Welcome to Secreto del Bosque Doradal

Bird Watching and Ecotourism

Our purpose

SECRETO DEL BOSQUE DORADAL is a project for restoring the ecosystem of the tropical rainforest in the middle Magdalena region of Colombia.

We want to share with you this natural paradise located in the heart of Colombia, which was dedicated to cattle farming for many years. Now, with your support, we are rebuilding the natural habitats so wild animals can reclaim their home and the area can become a space for reconnection where we can observe them in all their splendor.

Our tours

We are a family passionate about nature, and we will guide you on this unique journey of discovery, sharing, and reconnecting with Mother Earth while observing and learning together about the wonderful animals and plants that inhabit our reserve

Guided Tours

Main Activity: Birdwatching and hiking

During our guided tours, we will visit the forest restoration project and explore the course of the San Juan stream, while using our binoculars to search for the more than 116 bird species that inhabit El Secreto Del Bosque Doradal.

With luck, we may have the chance to observe the endangered endemic species, the Gray-headed Tamarin Monkey.

Other species: you may encounter include turtles, kingfishers, guans, wrens, macaws, parrots, and more.

MASL: 180m

Please note that the terrain is uneven, with steep inclines and ascents. Keep in mind that it is a region with a warm climate, so staying well-hydrated is important to enjoy this experience to the fullest.
