Full Description

Our journey begins at 5:30 am at Doradal, at the entrance of the bus terminal, where we will pick you up and take a short 20-minute drive to the Secreto del Bosque Reserve. Once there, we’ll take a few moments to get to know each other and provide the necessary instructions to make the most of this adventure.

Once on the grounds, it’s time to get your cameras and binoculars ready as we start birdwatching during the early morning hours when the birds are most active and easier to spot. The tour begins at the lookout kiosk, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee while observing parrots and macaws in flight. We will then explore our trails, searching for some of the more than 130 bird species that inhabit our reserve, embarking on an unforgettable adventure.

You will be accompanied at all times by the SDBD team, who will guide you and share their expertise throughout the activity. The approximate duration of this activity is 4 hours

The Reserve

Secreto del Bosque Doradal was, for many years, a cattle ranch that has been restored with native trees. As a result, you’ll find areas of forest and open fields reflecting different stages of vegetation growth. This diversity allows us to observe the beautiful birds that inhabit the area and capture incredible images from a comfortable vantage point.

We are a family passionate about nature, and our goal is to share the knowledge we have acquired in wildlife observation while exploring this territory.

Important

We believe in the beauty and perfection of nature. Therefore, we do NOT allow the use of artificial sounds (playback). Each experience is unique and challenging as we strive to spot as many birds as possible in their 100% natural habitat. We aim to minimize our impact on the ecosystem, so we cannot guarantee the sighting of any specific species during the tour. Each species is magical, and we invite you to be amazed by every inhabitant of Secreto del Bosque Doradal.
